Virtual Meeting for Bridges Programs Applicants

We’re pleased to announce a virtual “office hour” on August 16 for potential applicants for our Bridges to the Baccalaureate (B2B) and Bridges to the Doctorate (B2D) research training programs.

B2B develops a diverse pool of research-oriented undergraduates who transition from associate to baccalaureate degree-granting institutions and complete a baccalaureate STEM degree, positioning them to pursue research-oriented biomedical higher degree programs or enter careers in the biomedical research workforce.

NIGMS supports basic research that increases our understanding of biological processes and lays the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. NIGMS also supports research in specific clinical areas that affect multiple organ systems: anesthesiology and peri-operative pain; clinical pharmacology common to multiple drugs and treatments; and injury, critical illness, sepsis, and wound healing. We have five scientific divisions that support research, research training, and capacity building in a range of scientific fields.

Funding Opportunity: Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH)

We’re pleased to share that the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) program (PAR-23-166) has been reissued. NARCH supports federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native Tribes and Tribal colleges or universities, Tribal health programs, and Tribal organizations. The program funds health-related research, research career enhancement, and research infrastructure-enhancement activities. This NOFO is led by NIGMS with additional participating NIH institutes, centers, and offices.

A NARCH award is for up to 5 years with an annual budget of up to $1.3 million in direct costs. The first NARCH application due date is July 8, 2024.
