We’re pleased to announce that the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) funding opportunity announcement (FOA) (PAR-23-100) has been issued. INBRE funds one statewide network of higher education and research institutions in each Institutional Development Award (IDeA)-eligible state and Puerto Rico to build biomedical research capacity through supporting faculty research and mentoring, student participation in research, and infrastructure enhancements at network institutions.

The successful applicants will be responsible for scientific and administrative management of a portfolio of research grants and/or research training and career development awards, and will stimulate, plan, advise, direct, and evaluate program activities related to their field of expertise.

The DRCB position involves overseeing grants supporting research and providing resources for research infrastructure enhancement and capacity building in the basic, translational, and clinical biomedical sciences. The chosen candidate will manage Institutional Development Award​ and Native American Research Centers for Health programs, and may contribute to other programmatic activities as opportunities and needs emerge. Thoughts on Our Virtual IDeA Program Meeting

November 16, 2020

In September, we hosted a virtual meeting for investigators and students supported by the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) program to introduce them to strategic initiatives from NIH leaders in response to COVID-19, and to highlight scientific progress by IDeA researchers. We were pleased with the overwhelming response from the IDeA community—there were approximately 750 attendees and more than 180 abstracts submitted.
