Administrative Supplements for Institutional Development Awards

We’re pleased to announce the availability of administrative supplements to the Institutional Development Awards (IDeA). We invite eligible investigators to submit proposals in response to the following notices:

  • Administrative Supplements to INBRE Awards to Fund Research Collaborations (NOT-GM-21-016)
    The goal of this notice is to develop collaborations between investigators at INBRE institutions and those currently supported by COBRE, IDeA-CTR, IDeA co-funded R01s and R15s, ISPCTN, or CTSA awards in IDeA states.
    Application deadline: April 30, 2021

  • Administrative Supplements to STTR Regional Technology Transfer Accelerator Hubs to Provide Instruction in Business Fundamentals to Core Facility Directors (NOT-GM-21-017)
    Funds are available to conduct training on business fundamentals for directors and staff of biomedical research core facilities supported by IDeA. The goal of the training is to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of these facilities.
    Application deadline: April 30, 2021

  • Administrative Supplements for Research on Women’s Health in the IDeA States (NOT-GM-21-018)
    These supplements aim to expand IDeA states’ research capacity in addressing important women’s health issues. Research on maternal and infant morbidity and mortality is of particular interest, but research in a broad range of areas related to women’s health may be supported.
    Applications deadline: April 19, 2021

Before leaving NIGMS for WVU in August 2023, Ming served as the director of the Division for Research Capacity Building, where he oversaw the Institutional Development Award (IDeA), Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH), Science Education Partnerships Awards (SEPA), and Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) programs.

Federico Bernal

Fed is the chief of the Research Advancements Programs Branch in the Division for Research Capacity Building. He oversees the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence and Support for Research Excellence programs. His scientific background is in synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology.
