Baishali Maskeri, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She oversees research grants in the areas​ of regulation of cell death pathways, autophagy, and maintenance of cellular homeostasis.

Before joining NIGMS, Maskeri was a scientific review officer overseeing the genomics, computational biology, and technology study section at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Prior to that, she was a bioinformatics staff scientist at the sequencing center of the National Human Genome Research Institute. 

Maskeri earned a bachelor's degree in zoology from Calcutta University followed by a Ph.D. in molecular biology at the University of South Carolina and conducted postdoctoral studies at Georgetown University.
