Marc Rigas, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Training, Mentored Research, and Diversity Section of the Scientific Review Branch. He serves as SRO for the TWD-D study section, which reviews a variety of institutional training grant programs focused on the training and development of a strong and diverse biomedical workforce. He also administers a portfolio of grants in the area of organismal response to environmental stressors.
Rigas has research and teaching experience in biomedical informatics and technology. Prior to joining NIGMS, he was a program officer supporting small business grant applicants at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and has served in a number of research and administrative roles in government and academia.
Rigas earned a B.S.E. in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in bioengineering from Penn State University. He has conducted environmental health and data science research.
