NIGMS Priority Areas for Administrative Supplements

UPDATE: For consideration in FY25, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit supplement requests by April 18, 2025.

We’re accepting applications for administrative supplements through PA-20-272, Administrative Supplements to Existing NIH Grants and Cooperative Agreements (Parent Admin Supp Clinical Trial Optional), and any subsequent reissuances. Requests must be within the scope of the approved grant award and must be in response to something that was unanticipated when the competing application was submitted. In addition, the award to be supplemented must be active and cannot be in a no-cost extension.

Applicants should have interest and experience in the scientific areas that comprise the Biophysics Branch. Job responsibilities include scientific and administrative planning, managing, and evaluating activities of the Branch, along with supervising program directors with portfolios of funded research grants. The branch chief will also handle a portfolio of research grants consistent with their own scientific background.

Archived: Policy on Late Submissions of NIGMS Applications Due in May 2020

Because many people in the research community are facing considerable challenges trying to juggle various responsibilities during the COVID-19 outbreak, NIGMS will accommodate late application submissions for due dates in May 2020 for all NIGMS-specific FOAs (see NOT-GM-20-029). For applications submitted through June 30, 2020, institutions do not need to request advance permission or provide a cover letter to justify a late submission to these FOAs. Applications with due dates prior to May 25 should use FORMS E and those with due dates on or after May 25 should use FORMS F, regardless of the date of submission.
