Biographical Sketch: Donna Krasnewich, M.D., Ph.D.

Donna Krasnewich, M.D., Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, where she manages research grants dealing with the genetic basis of human biology. She also manages the Predoctoral MD/PhD or Other Dual-Doctoral Degree Fellowships for Students at Institutions Without NIH-Funded Institutional Predoctoral Dual-Degree Training Programs (F30)​. Prior to joining NIGMS, she held several intramural positions, including deputy clinical director at the National Human Genome Research Institute. Krasnewich earned a B.S. in microbiology and cell biology from the University of Michigan and an M.D. and Ph.D. in pharmacology from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in pediatrics and clinical biochemical genetics.
