Biographical Sketch: Jason Chan, Ph.D.

Jason Chan, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Centers, Resources, and Research Support (CRRS) ​Section of the Scientific Review Branch of the Division of Extramural Activities. He coordinates the review of a wide range of applications for research capacity building and program project grants including the Support for Research Excellence Award (SuRE) and Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in the areas of biochemistry, cellular, molecular, and developmental biology, and neuroscience.

Prior to joining NIGMS, he was a faculty member at Juniata College and Marian University, where he taught and performed research in cell and molecular biology, physiology, and neurobiology. He received his B.A. at Wesleyan University and his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Tufts University School of Biomedical Sciences. Chan also conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Southern California.
