Andrew G. Campbell was a Minority Biomedical Research Support program participant at the City University of New York, York College, where he graduated in 1981 with a degree in biology. He earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1987, followed by postdoctoral research at the Hormone Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco, and at the Molecular Biology Institute at UCLA. Campbell is now dean of the graduate school and a professor of medical science at Brown University.
