Biographical Sketch: Paula Flicker, Ph.D.

Paula Flicker, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She administers grants dealing with protein processing and export, and endoplasmic reticulum as well as in the area of membrane biology and organelle biogenesis. Flicker also administers grants in the Division of Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences dealing with cryo-electron microscopy and other approaches. In addition, Flicker manages training grants in the area of molecular biophysics. Before joining NIGMS, she was an assistant professor in the department of molecular biology at Vanderbilt University. Flicker earned a B.S. in biophysics from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in biophysics from Brandeis University. She conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University; the University of California, Berkeley; and the University of California, San Francisco.
