Biographical Sketch: Paula Flicker, Ph.D.

Paula Flicker, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Cell Biology and Biophysics. She administers grants dealing with cell attachment, the extracellular matrix and signaling, diffraction analysis of biological macromolecules and electron microscopy of molecules and cells. In addition, Flicker manages training grants in the area of molecular biophysics, postdoctoral fellowships and and K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Awards in cell biology and biophysics. Before joining NIGMS, she was an assistant professor in the department of molecular biology at Vanderbilt University. Flicker earned a B.S. in biophysics from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in biophysics from Brandeis University. She conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University; the University of California, Berkeley; and the University of California, San Francisco.
