Future Structural Genomics Initiatives

NIGMS held a  meeting on October 30-31, 2008, on the NIH campus to explore potential future structural genomics initiatives. This meeting was an information-gathering workshop by a working group of the National Advisory General Medical Sciences (NAGMS) Council. The goal was to examine potential new directions in research that would take best advantage of the progress made to date by structural genomics researchers. The roster for this workshop included 24 extramural scientists with diverse points of view, including people who are and are not involved in the current NIGMS-funded Protein Structure Initiative – Phase 2 (PSI-2). A report of the meeting will be presented at the January NAGMS Council meeting. For more information, contact the meeting organizer, Dr. Peter C. Preusch.
