Biographical Sketch: Paul Sammak, Ph.D.

Paul Sammak, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences, where he manages a portfolio of Biomedical Technology Research Resources grants, technology development grants and grants that support the development of microscopy and cell imaging technologies. Before joining NIGMS, Sammak was a scientific review officer at NIH’s Center for Scientific Review. Prior to that, he was a research associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

Sammak earned a B.A. in physics from Hampshire College and an M.S. in physics and Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the University of California, San Diego.
