Biographical Sketch: Pamela A. Marino, Ph.D.

Pamela A. Marino, Ph.D., serves as chief of the Biochemistry and Bio-related Chemistry Branch in the NIGMS Division of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry. She administers research grant portfolios in glycobiology and molecular immunology, and serves as the NIGMS Contracting Officer Representative for the joint NCI-NIGMS program Chemically Defined Glycan Libraries for Reference Standards and Glycomics Research. In addition, she is a Working Group Coordinator for the NIH Office of Strategic Coordination’s Common Fund Program in Glycoscience, and leads their Methods and Technologies for Synthesis of Biomedically Relevant Carbohydrates program. Prior to joining NIGMS in 1994, Marino held a senior staff (tenure track) position at the Food and Drug Administration, where her laboratory was focused on studies of bacterial drug resistance.
