Biographical Sketch: Vernon Anderson, Ph.D.

Vernon Anderson, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry. Anderson administers grants in the areas of bioinorganic chemistry, metallo-enzymology, mitochondrial​ physiology, and other aspects of bioenergetics. Before joining NIGMS, he served as a professor of biochemistry and chemistry at Case Western Reserve University. He earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Anderson conducted postdoctoral research at Cornell University.
