To all NIGMS applicants (except for Fellowship applicants):
NIH policy, you should retrieve your summary statement through the
NIH Commons. The summary statement has been prepared by the scientific review administrator of the initial review group (IRG) that evaluated your application. The actions that may be recommended by the IRG are underlined. You should also consult another document (Actions on Applications After Initial Review) which explains the actions that are necessary now that the initial merit review is complete. If your application received a rating that makes it unlikely for funding, be assured that this will in no way prejudice the independent consideration of any applications (revised or new) that you may submit in the future. The
appeals process is also described.
REMINDER for Required, Countersigned Information:
If your application, with the exception of T32 or R25 applications, received a percentile ranking between 1 and 20, or if a percentile ranking is not specified and the priority score is between 10 and 30, please submit Other Support information within 2 weeks of the availability of the Summary Statement. When reporting other support, investigators should describe their other research projects in sufficient detail that NIGMS staff and Council members can determine the differences between the proposed NIGMS project and research supported by other sources. Investigators are encouraged to explain any appearance of overlapping research goals and should report the time commitment to each existing project. In addition, if your research involves vertebrate animals or human subjects, you must submit information as described in the above referenced
Actions on Applications After Initial Review sheet for instructions on completing this information.
