Paula Flicker, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Cell
Biology and Biophysics. She administers grants dealing with
cell attachment, the extracellular matrix and signaling,
diffraction analysis of biological macromolecules and electron
microscopy of molecules and cells. In addition, Flicker manages
training grants in the area of molecular biophysics, postdoctoral
fellowships and and K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Awards in cell biology and biophysics. Before joining NIGMS, she was an
assistant professor in the department of molecular biology at
Vanderbilt University. Flicker earned a B.S. in biophysics from the
University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in biophysics from Brandeis
University. She conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford
University; the University of California, Berkeley; and the
University of California, San Francisco.
