Roles of metal ions in biological systems, zinc-containing DNA-binding and gene regulatory proteins, calcium-binding proteins, structure determination methods including X-ray crystallography and NMR, mirror-image proteins, protein targeting to peroxisomes and other organelles, molecular recognition, structure-based drug design, the role of zinc in immunological signal transduction pathways, bioinformatics of metalloproteins, protein structure prediction based on homology modeling.
