Marion Sewer was a Minority Access to Research Careers undergraduate student at Spelman College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1993. She earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Emory University in 1998, followed by postdoctoral research at Vanderbilt University.
