Diversity Program Alumni Updates: Melvin Limson, Ph.D.

Dr. Melvin Limson

Melvin Limson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University in 1994 and then worked for 2 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He returned to school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (UMDNJ-GSBS) where he participated in the Minority Biomedical Research Support program. Limson earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry in 2002 from Rutgers University and the UMDNJ-GSBS, followed by postdoctoral work in the field of science education at the University of Utah’s Genetic Science Learning Center and California State University, Los Angeles. He is now the K-12 education programs coordinator at the American Physiological Society in Bethesda, MD.
