Marquea D. King was a Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) undergraduate student at Delaware State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1997. She went on to become a MARC predoctoral fellow at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, earning a Ph.D. in toxicology in 2002.
