Marti Morales-Ensign was a Minority Biomedical Research Support program participant at the University of New Mexico, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1999, and also at New Mexico State University, where she earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in biology in 2002 and 2007, respectively. She performed postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is now an assistant professor of biology at Adrian College in Michigan.
