Andrew G. Campbell was a Minority Biomedical Research Support program participant at the City University of New York, York College, where he graduated in 1981 with a degree in biology. He earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1987, followed by postdoctoral research at the Hormone Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco, and at the Molecular Biology Institute at UCLA. Campbell is now an associate professor of medical science at Brown University, where he also directs the Pathobiology Graduate Program. In addition, he oversees the Joint Brown University - Marine Biological Laboratory Graduate Program in Biological and Environmental Sciences.
