Biographical Sketch: Hinda Zlotnik, Ph.D.

Hinda Zlotnik, Ph.D., is a program director in the Postdoctoral Training Branch in the Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity. She oversees programs that seek to increase the participation of underrepresented students and faculty in biomedical and behavioral research. Prior to joining NIGMS, Zlotnik was director of the office of sponsored research and a professor in the department of microbiology and medical zoology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She also served as an NIH Extramural Associate. Zlotnik earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and microbiology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico and a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Temple University. She conducted postdoctoral research at Temple University and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, NIH.
