Marion Zatz, Ph.D., is chief of the Developmental and Cellular Processes Branch in the Division of Genetics and Developmental Biology. She manages grants in the areas of cell cycle control, programmed cell death and stem cell biology as well as predoctoral training grants in the areas of cellular, biochemical and molecular sciences and molecular medicine. Zatz also serves as the NIGMS liaison to the NIH Stem Cell Task Force. Prior to joining NIGMS, she was an associate research professor in the department of biochemistry at George Washington University. Zatz earned an A.B. in zoology from Barnard College and a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the Cornell University School of Medicine. She conducted postdoctoral research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Hospital for Special Surgery.
