Mona Trempe, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer in the Office of Scientific Review. She is responsible for managing the review of applications for research projects and centers as well as research training programs. Prior to joining NIGMS, Trempe was a professor in the department of biochemistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She also served as a visiting program officer at the National Science Foundation. Trempe earned a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Vermont and a Ph.D. in biological chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she also conducted postdoctoral research.
