Helen Sunshine, Ph.D., is chief of the Office of Scientific Review, where she oversees the review of research, research training and education and center grant applications. Before joining NIGMS, she was a senior staff fellow in the Laboratory of Chemical Physics at the former National Institute of Arthritis, Metabolism, and Digestive Diseases, NIH. Sunshine earned an A.B. in chemistry from Barnard College, a B.Sc. in inorganic chemistry from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in bioinorganic chemistry from Columbia University.
