Scott Somers, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry, where he administers research and research training grants in trauma, burn and peri-operative injury. He also oversees grants in the area of physiology. Prior to joining NIGMS, Somers was an assistant member of the James N. Gamble Institute of Medical Research. He earned a B.S. in genetics and a Ph.D. in microbiology from Ohio State University. Somers conducted postdoctoral research at Duke University Medical Center.
