Rochelle M. Long, Ph.D., is chief of the Pharmacological and Physiological Sciences Branch in the Division of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry. In this position, she administers research grants and cooperative agreements in the area of pharmacogenetics/pharmacogenomics. Prior to joining NIGMS, Long was a faculty member in the department of pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She earned a B.S. in chemistry from Bucknell University and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Long conducted postdoctoral research at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, NIH.
