Catherine Lewis, Ph.D., is director of the Division of Cell Biology and Biophysics. In this capacity, she oversees the division’s basic research programs in structural biology, structural genomics, cell biology and biophysics. Prior to joining NIGMS, Lewis was a staff fellow in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, NIH. She earned a B.A. in psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Princeton University.
