Biographical Sketch: Anthony Carter, Ph.D.

Anthony Carter, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Developmental Biology. He oversees research grants in the areas of chromosomes and epigenetics as well as postdoctoral fellowship awards in genetics and developmental biology. In addition, Carter serves as the division’s representative for the Pathway to Independence (K99/R00) and Academic Research Enhancement Award programs. Prior to joining NIGMS, he was a scientific review administrator at the NIH Center for Scientific Review. Carter earned an A.B. in biology from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in microbiology from Rutgers University-University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He conducted postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute, NIH.
